AUSTRALIAN WORM FARMS PTY LTD

In 1985   Australian Worm Farms began as a weekend hobby to provide an additional source of income for two families facing the rising stresses of the recession. After many study and research, it was discovered that there was a real market opportunity for worms to be used in wildlife rehabilitation, fishing, and composting. Originally, Australian Worm Farms raised Reds and Tiger worms, which are now primarily used for composting. However, after discovering that they couldn't maintain their size for long, researchers began looking for a worm that could be fattened to a size that would appeal to everyone.

As a result, the African Nightcrawler, which was introduced at the time from Canada, was introduced. When we were offered 2000 of the wriggly devils because the lady wanted to travel and no longer wanted to farm, it was a time of excitement and new discovery. In 1987 Australian worm farms PTY LTD was formed. And grew into a successful business that supported two families while supplying live bait worms to Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria.

We have relocated, expanded the business significantly to meet consumer demands, and introduced the European Nightcrawler, also known by many as Catchall Crawlers or Euro's.

Today, in 2023, and 36 years later, the Bosanquet family is the sole owner of Australian Worm Farms. Stocking three types of worms for customer retail outlets, dams, and environmental departments in New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland. We take pride in offering a high-quality product while maintaining traditional values and customer service. Our commitment to our customers is demonstrated by the fact that our first client in Charleville, Queensland, is still with us today.
